At Big Sky, our new community in Simcoe, we set out to design family-sized modern townhomes with a new level of design excellence and enhanced liveability. Thinking like a homeowner, we designed spaces with intention: to enrich your comfort and add a touch of luxury to every room.
They say the most important spaces in a home are the kitchen and the bathrooms, and we agree! The kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where families gather, cook meals and enjoy each other’s company.
The design of a kitchen is integral to the functionality of the home. Every townhome kitchen at Big Sky is designed by thinking about our homeowners’ pathway to and from the space, how to maximize the natural light, movement between appliances as they prepare meals, how they will be dining in the space, as well as innovative storage solutions. In our townhome designs, we have focused our attention on kitchens that function beautifully while providing space for families to enjoy them together.
Thoughtful design also adds touches of luxury throughout the home to elevate the every day. Therefore, all of the towns at Big Sky have a double vanity in the ensuite and a walk-in shower. No more crowding around one sink – small win! The walk-in shower also adds comfort, as there’s no need to step over the side of the tub to get in. Our homeowners also have the opportunity to select beautiful finishing touches, such as a luxe showerhead, at their Design Studio appointment with the guidance of our professional décor consultants.
Homeowner ease of enjoyment is prioritized in the design of the Big Sky townhomes. In our designs, we provide flexible spaces so that homeowners can personalize their homes, such as using an extra bedroom for a home office and offering an optional pantry in the kitchen.
Typically, Primary Bedrooms in townhomes don’t include a walk-in closet because it takes up usable space. At Big Sky, the Primary Bedrooms are designed as retreats so that it has everything our homeowners desire: a large sunlit room with a spacious walk-in closet, as well as a spa-like ensuite with double sink vanity and standalone shower.
Another exciting convenience factor we offer in every single townhome is the inclusion of a second floor laundry room so that our homeowners don’t have to lug heavy laundry baskets up and down stairs to a basement level laundry room. As the kids get older, they might even lug their own laundry down the hall to the second floor laundry room, if the parents are lucky!
INNOVATIVE GARAGE TO BACKYARD LANEWAY
In every townhome at Big Sky, we provide a separate indoor laneway from the garage to the backyard so homeowners can easily move gardening tools, lawnmowers and toys from storage to set up.
Every home is designed with a tile-finished indoor laneway along one side of the home and it does not impede on the space inside the home, yet it provides some storage and a simple solution for moving items that you don’t want to trek through the home.
This is a huge improvement in the functionality of townhomes and an innovative approach to how we design the movement from the exterior front of the home, through the garage to the backyard.
